Davies Motorsport

The team, led by long-time Manx GP racer John Davies, is based near Bott’s Vehicle Conversion facility at Ashby de la Zouch, and competes on Honda 350 and 500cc four-cylinder bikes. Davies Motorsport has developed the CB500/4RR and CB350/4RR along the lines of the Honda race bikes of the 1960s. The frames of the bikes have been remanufactured retaining the geometry of the originals, but utilising lightweight TIG-welded Reynolds 631 tubing, giving reduced weight and increased stiffness. At the heart of each bike is fully tuned race engine, revving at up to 13,000 rpm and featuring Davies Motorsports’ own lightweight pistons, con-rods and valves, all assembled with the help of Bott Workshop Equipment.
The bikes are ridden by William Dunlop and Alan Oversby, both veterans of the 2013 Isle of Man Classic TT. Following on from their strong start, Bott wishes them every success in the event.
In 2018, rider Dominic Herbertson won the Isle of Man Junior Classic TT, clinching the win in the final lap, with a time of 103.640 on Davies’ Honda 360.
Following a win in his maiden Mountain Course race, Dom “The Bomb” will move up to TT for 2019. Completing a busy schedule for the year ahead, with the Isle of Man TT, North West 200 and Ulster GP.
Herbertson’s armoury with Davies for upcoming races consists of a 2019 Kawasaki ZX-10RR, a Kawasaki ZX-6R, plus the Junior TT winning Honda 360.
