Bott Ltd, has been working with mobility equipment specialist Prism Medical UK to fit out their Vauxhall Vivaro service vehicles with Bott’s Vario Storage System.

Prism Medical UK is the umbrella company for brands Westholme, Freeway, Carefree, Test Valley, Saluss, Assured Patient, Lifting Services, Liftech and Movement2. The company provides specialist equipment for the safe moving and handling of the mobility disadvantaged within various public and private sector environments.

Bott’s objective while working with the company was to increase efficiency, create continuity and present a positive impression when working at customer sites. The Fleet of Vauxhall Vivaros is used for servicing products at a variety of locations including hospitals, care homes and private households. The vehicles carry a range of spare parts to service and repair stair lifts, bathing harnesses, slings, standing aids, shower trolleys and stretchers and moving/handling equipment.

Bott’s Vario storage system was chosen because of its renowned quality, and its lightweight, adaptable design that can be easily altered should Prism Medical UK’s needs ever change.

The solution included drawers for the small, expensive parts that Prism Medical UK’s service engineers carry, along with shelving units for general storage. The system was carefully designed by Bott to improve the engineers’ efficiency whilst significantly reducing the risk of damage to costly parts. Bott Vario has also given the vehicles a more professional, consistent look.

Richard Hunter, Prism Medical UK’s Marketing Manager, said: “Bott worked really closely with us whilst developing the storage system for our fleet. They listened to our specific needs and worked with our own engineers to develop a really versatile storage system”.

"We started this process by selecting three potential companies to tender for the work that we required and subsequently arranged site visits to all. On arriving at your Leicestershire depot it was clear to me that this was a substantial and professional outfit, and this immediately filled me with confidence. We then were welcomed and introduced to both Andy and Adrian and were given a presentation about the company and shown around the facility; this was conducted in a very relaxed way and nothing was too much trouble."

"Having visited the two other companies I was in no doubt as to who was going to get the contract for our work, knowing that we were going to spend in excess of £30,000 of charitable money."

“Vario has really helped our business. We can store a wider range and higher quantity of parts, allowing us to bring our customers a speedier and more efficient service. We have been so impressed with Bott that we are planning on placing another order.”

Bott Vario comprises of drawers, containers, boxes and shelving units – which all fix and lock securely into place. The result of a three-year multi-million pound development programme, Bott Vario combines anodised aluminium, powder-coated high-strength steel and high-grade plastic, which gives the system a sleek appearance and offers a weight reduction when compared to traditional systems.
