We chose bott because they’re very robust, they’re a local company in Cornwall, offer excellent after-sales service, and are very easy to work with—from ordering straight through to delivery, assembly, and use.
Andy Foulks, Deputy Head of Faculty for Engineering, Truro & Penwith College
Truro & Penwith College is a leading provider of further and higher education in Cornwall, with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality engineering training. Andy Foulks oversees the engineering department at the college’s Ottery campus, where they offer a range of specialist courses including mechatronics in minerals and mechatronics in food and drink engineering, and full-time BTEC Level 3 programmes. As a relatively new campus, bott was the perfect fit for modern learning.
Modern equipment for modern education

The decision to partner with bott was an easy choice for the college. Having already partnered with bott, the team knew first-hand the quality and durability of the products. Being able to rely on a UK manufacturer who understands the college’s needs and provides responsive support has been a major benefit, ensuring a smooth process from concept to installation.
In education, you must have good quality, robust, and safe equipment because students are learning from scratch. The wear and tear can be heavy. The ten-year guarantee gives us confidence that these products will last.
Why bott?

When designing the new workshop, bott’s projects team helped the college select the most suited products including benches and cabinets from the bott cubio range. The benches are fitted with vices and are currently being used for projects such as building a coffee table inspired by an aircraft wing. Flexible features offered by bott cubio include:
- Adjustability: The benches can easily be adjusted for height and special requirements.
- Versatility: With the option to add wheels, the benches can be moved around the workshop.
The bott cubio range is flexible. We can retrofit wheels and change the workshop layout quickly.
Building a flexible workspace

For engineering students, developing best practices around organisation and safety is essential. With bott products, education spaces can ensure:
- Everything in its place: At the start of each session, students collect their tools from clearly organised cabinets, and return them at the end.
- Safe and ready: Having tools stored safely and cleanly ensures machines are ready for use, supporting effective and secure learning.
Truro & Penwith College make use of bott’s CNC Tool Carrier - Bench Stand (as pictured) which allows up to three CNC tool carriers to be stored securely on any worktop — helping students easily access the tools they need while keeping the workspace tidy.
Safe and efficient learning

Having bott products in an educational environment sets students up from day one to be organised. It means teaching is more efficient and the workshop is safer.
The quality and flexibility of our products not only supports effective teaching but also showcases professional standards to visiting employers and future apprentices.
I would definitely recommend bott. When employers see our workshops, set up with bott products, it shows the standard our students are working to — and often influences the choices they make for their own businesses.
A strong recommendation
