Management Accountant

We now have a new and excellent opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our well-established team based at Bude, Cornwall however occasional travel will be required to other bott sites within the UK and abroad.

What You’ll Do

You’ll take ownership of the monthly management accounts working closely with the Financial Controller and Department managers to support business performance. This role suits someone who is proactive, accurate, and enjoys variety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce timely and accurate management accounts using SAP
  • Oversee the full month‑end process including journal postings
  • Manage the UK sales ledger, credit control, credit governance and customer queries
  • Maintain and reconcile the UK cash book daily; manage cash forecasting
  • Process prepayments, accruals and the full fixed asset cycle
  • Carry out balance sheet reconciliations (including multi‑currency accounts, PAYE, credit cards, loans, petty cash)
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and external audit preparation
  • Complete actual vs budget reviews with Department Managers, including reforecasts
  • Submit UK quarterly VAT returns and monthly French VAT documentation
  • Maintain SAP exchange rates and complete monthly foreign currency revaluations
  • Clear GRIR accounts regularly
  • Assist with KPI data collation
  • Maintain diesel logs and fleet records
  • Support other Finance team tasks when required

What You’ll Bring

Essential Skills

  • Experience managing the full month‑end cycle & producing management accounts
  • Part‑qualified or qualified (AAT/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • Strong ERP experience
  • Robust ledger management skills
  • High accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience with data manipulation and analysis
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to influence others and work collaboratively
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Proactive, organised and adaptable
  • Experience with VAT submissions

Desirable

  • SAP experience
  • Cost accounting exposure
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Desire to grow and develop the role
