You’ll play a hands‑on role in maintaining and improving a wide range of sheet metal and fabrication equipment, working in a proactive rather than fire‑fighting culture. This role suits someone who enjoys variety, responsibility, and being a key technical expert within a small team.
Very occasional travel to other UK bott sites (Exeter, Ashby de la Zouch, Cumbernauld) may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) across production and site equipment
- Electrical fault finding and breakdown repairs
- Maintenance, servicing, and improvement of sheet metal and fabrication machinery
- Supporting process improvements, new machinery installations, and site projects
- Maintenance of site facilities, utilities, and infrastructure
- Acting as a key technical point of contact within a small engineering team
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer / Electrical Maintenance Engineer / Multi‑Skilled Engineer
- Recognised electrical qualification (ideally 18th Edition Wiring Regulations) – Must Have
- Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience of commercial power and electrical systems - (Minimum 3 years)
- A proactive, safety‑focused mindset with a positive, can‑do attitude
- Willingness to learn, share knowledge, and support team development
Desirable Experience:
- CNC Sheet metal and fabrication machinery, including: Laser cutting, Punch machines, Press brakes, Panel benders, Powder coating lines
- Mechanical fitting and assembly
- Fabrication or toolmaking background
- Basic plumbing and general building maintenance
Working Hours:
- Rotating day and evening shifts (weekly rotation)
- Occasional weekend cover
- No overnight shifts
