Our Benefits

You’ll play a hands‑on role in maintaining and improving a wide range of sheet metal and fabrication equipment, working in a proactive rather than fire‑fighting culture. This role suits someone who enjoys variety, responsibility, and being a key technical expert within a small team.

Very occasional travel to other UK bott sites (Exeter, Ashby de la Zouch, Cumbernauld) may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) across production and site equipment
  • Electrical fault finding and breakdown repairs
  • Maintenance, servicing, and improvement of sheet metal and fabrication machinery
  • Supporting process improvements, new machinery installations, and site projects
  • Maintenance of site facilities, utilities, and infrastructure
  • Acting as a key technical point of contact within a small engineering team

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer / Electrical Maintenance Engineer / Multi‑Skilled Engineer
  • Recognised electrical qualification (ideally 18th Edition Wiring Regulations) – Must Have
  • Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
  • Experience of commercial power and electrical systems - (Minimum 3 years)
  • A proactive, safety‑focused mindset with a positive, can‑do attitude
  • Willingness to learn, share knowledge, and support team development

Desirable Experience:

  • CNC Sheet metal and fabrication machinery, including: Laser cutting, Punch machines, Press brakes, Panel benders, Powder coating lines
  • Mechanical fitting and assembly
  • Fabrication or toolmaking background
  • Basic plumbing and general building maintenance

Working Hours:

  • Rotating day and evening shifts (weekly rotation)
  • Occasional weekend cover
  • No overnight shifts

Applicants must live within a commutable distance of Bude, Cornwall.
