Product Manager - Vehicle Electrics & Onboard Systems

Working primarily from our Ashby de la Zouch offices, we are looking for an experienced Product Manager who can help us develop our vehicle conversion offering.

Our ideal candidate would develop and manage our existing in-vehicle equipment product ranges and accessories to suit customer’s needs in the service vehicle market (i.e., utilities, services, tradespeople, etc.). Combining product planning, electrical and engineering, pricing and marketing to manage the entire life cycle of the product / project in line with the group vision and strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a range of standard products using an understanding of market and customer needs, with an emphasis on simple installation.
  • Create buy-in for the product vision from both internal and with key partners.
  • Continuously identify and fill product gaps in our product range through market research and competitor analysis, generate new ideas to grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth.
  • Develop product pricing and positioning strategies.
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirement and prototypes.
  • Creating project timelines, scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact.
  • Initiate product launches including working with other product managers and the other relevant departments in the business.
  • Evaluate promotional plans with our marketing team to ensure they are consistent with product strategy and our message is effectively conveyed.
  • Act as a product specialist to build awareness and understanding, both internally and outside of our business.
  • Represent the company at customers and trade shows to gain feedback on company products and services.

Essential Skills & Personal Profile

  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle.
  • Proven ability to develop electrical products and marketing strategies.
  • Previous product management experience.
  • Effectively communicate recommendations to senior management.
  • Solid technical background with hands on experience working with product management
  • Work effectively with cross functional teams in the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good IT skills are essential including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills as you will be liaising with internal staff at all levels.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Confident, resilient and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Valid passport.
  • Conversational German, particularly language relating to technical drawings and specifications will be advantageous however not essential.

Base salary £44,000/yr - £48,000/yr

Full time role - 37 hours per week Monday to Friday (over 4.5 days per week).
