Electrical Team Leader

We’re looking for an experienced Electrical Team Leader to support our Electrical Supervisor within our Vehicle Conversion Centre at Ashby de la Zouch. This role is ensures that vehicle conversions are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The successful Electrical Team Leader should have the following skills/experience:

  • Basic IT skills (training can be provided) Microsoft and SAP would be beneficial
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in electrical installation
  • A relevant electrical qualification e.g., 2365 Electrotechnical and/or Inspection & Testing to a recognised standard (meeting BS7671; 18th edition)

  • Ideally experience within the automotive sector understanding of ‘Lean’ principles would be advantageous

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate the ongoing plan to the team to enable them to understand the timescales involved, and to liaise with them on ways to complete the scheduled workload
  • Ensure clear communication & timely decision-making with team members and other internal teams, ensuring a ‘joined up approach’ with internal departments
  • Plan, allocate & prioritise staff workload including requests for support & overtime requirements
  • Demonstrate at all times the correct standards of professional conduct and ensure that team members do likewise.
  • Ensure that all Electrical Installations are compliant, completed in line with specifications, agreed timescales, company health and Safety guidance, and Quality procedures
  • Monitor team productivity, providing training and support when necessary
  • Support staff at all levels of experience with regular reviews
  • Monitor staff safety, conduct & discipline in line with company procedures
  • Control condition and availability of team tooling, assets and working space
  • Adopt and improve existing working processes, including use of business software systems – experience of lean methodology would be beneficial
  • Implement technical improvements in agreement with other departmental stakeholders
  • Ensure safety, consistency, accuracy & quality of all conversions leaving the team’s area
  • Follow internal quality processes, particularly Improvement Requests and Control of Non-Conforming Product
  • Ensure all necessary installation documentation is available, utilised and completed correctly
  • Engage with, and contribute to, internal training for own benefit as well as staff members
  • Provide support (including holiday cover) to other internal teams as necessary
  • Maintain working areas as a showroom for our products & services
  • Complete administrative tasks for the team e.g. return to work forms, counselling meetings etc. (training will be provided)
  • Valid UK driving license

Monday – Thursday - 07.30 – 16.00

Friday 07.30 – 12.30

37 hours a week

Pay: £17.50-£19.43 per hour
