Procter & Gamble Manufacturing GmbH

Procter & Gamble Manufacturing GmbH, is one of the most successful international manufacturers of consumer goods. Its portfolio includes more than 100 brands, including Pampers, Ariel, Braun and Oral-B.

Back in 2020, bott developed and supplied two hexagonal workbenches for Procter & Gamble’s production facility in Marktheidenfeld. Process Engineer, Sven Penirschke, was very satisfied with the custom solution, which met all of the specific requirements and made the best use of space.

Specially designed storage

He has therefore, chosen this type of workbench for a third time, to be used for in maintenance of plastic syringes for a new building in Marktheidenfeld. As there is sufficient space available in the facility, the current workbench solution covers a diameter of 4 meters. The workbench provides 6 places, for 12 employees, in two shifts. With the power channel being located centrally, employees have quick, easy and ergonomic access to the supply.

One particular feature of the equipment, is the purpose-built framework. The workbench has 6 specially designed storage spaces located underneath the worktop. Two mobile bott cubio tool trolleys can be manoeuvred in, to sit one behind the other. Side mounted wooden guide rails allow the tool cabinets to be moved in and out, quickly and smoothly.

Optimal space

The challenge of the design was to position the tool trolleys and storage spaces in such a way, that the available space is used optimally and the workbench is still stable. After successful implementation, a load of up to 500 kg can now be supported.

We asked Mr. Penirschke about the following points:

What type of work is carried out on the benches?

Maintenance and repairs are carried out on injection-moulds, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical components – they are also for manual metalworking.

What was particularly important to you in the set-up?

Above all, stability. And flexibility, due to changing personnel with rotating shifts. The 6-corner shape and the fact that the personalized tool trolleys are not connected to the workbench. Being mobile, they can be taken into production area with all the tools.

What do you like most about the bott cubio workshop equipment?

The design, durability, custom solutions matching customer requirements and of course, the wide range of products.

- Sven Penirschke, Process Engineer Procter & Gamble.
