Bott staff swap vans for shovels in aid of local park
A small team of volunteers from Bott's Cumbernauld site recently swapped their normal duties for some volunteering, assisting the ‘Friends of Pittencrieff Park’ with their work in making the town’s iconic park an even better place to visit.
The Friends of Pittencrieff Park (FOPP) exists to ensure a positive future for the park, working with Fife Council and The Carnegie Trust to oversee fundraising efforts for development projects, maintaining its status as one of Fife’s finest visitor attractions.
Visitors to Pittencrieff Park will notice the addition of extra fruit trees to the ‘Lawyer’s Orchard’ area. Apple and pear trees were strategically planted to expand the area known commonly as ‘The Lawyer’s Orchard’, by Bott’s very own James Jackson, Callum Stewart, and Chris Laird.

Harry Dunn (Chair of FOPP) was delighted with Bott’s efforts:
The first part of the orchard was completed in 2011, which was very warmly received and well used so we’ve always been looking to expand it. The work carried out today frees us up to continue our work in other areas of the park. The guys worked so hard and we’re delighted that they’re going to come back later this year to help with another project. On behalf of the Friends of Pittencrieff Park, I’d like to thank them for their excellent work. I’d also like to thank Kingdom Housing Association for the donation which allowed us to purchase the fruit trees.
