Bott supports Bude Sharks Swimming Club
Formed in 1996, Bude Sharks Swimming Club works with young people, enabling them to develop their swimming abilities and reach their potential, whilst enjoying the training.
With around 65 members from the age of 6 to 60 (there is no upper age limit- sign up is based on ability), and regular training sessions on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, the club is thriving. Club members are also encouraged to compete in the many competitions on offer throughout the year, including the Cornwall County Age Groups, often working alongside other local clubs to enter team events like the Cornwall and West Devon League.
Six dedicated, hardworking volunteers work behind the scenes, enabling the children to gain the confidence to achieve a good standard of swimming. The club is also now working with a new coach Jeremy Latham, to further develop the potential of members, and drive the club forward.
As a business, Bott have a track record of supporting the ambitions of young sports people in our region, and given the importance of swimming to youngsters brought up in a coastal area, a partnership with Bude Sharks swimming club was a natural fit. Both the Club and Bott, are inspired by the success of team GB at the Rio Olympics and understand that most Olympians have the tireless work of local sports clubs to thank for getting them started in their chosen sports.
