Reduce, re-use and recycle with bott

Kevin Woodward, Managing Director of the Vehicle Enhancement Division at bott explains: “It’s easy to assume that when you change your fleet, you won’t be able to keep your existing in-vehicle storage systems – even if they are still fit for purpose. However, as long as the system is in good condition, we can easily transfer it into the new vehicle and make any necessary adaptations to ensure it suits new vehicle models and meets current legislation and provides optimum safety.

“The savings generated by recycling such systems can range from 25 to 40 per cent against the cost of a new conversion – helping businesses to reduce outlay. In addition, by taking existing racking solutions and re-using it, bott is helping to extend the life of the product considerably. In turn, recycling avoids the need for new systems to be manufactured – assisting businesses in meeting their environmental obligations.

“When the recycling process begins, bott will make a thorough assessment of the existing equipment and produce a condition report. For larger fleets, we would simply review a sample quantity of the vehicles to assess the condition of the system – helping to reduce down time.

“When the old vehicle is decommissioned, the existing equipment is stripped out then thoroughly cleaned. Dependent upon the age of the equipment, bott can then either re-spray the modular racking or re-install it as it is into the new vehicle. Any missing or damaged items are also replaced and accessories included in the original vehicle conversion utilised again, if they are in a good condition.

bott’s original-thinking approach ensures it provides customers with practical, hard-working solutions that stand the test of time. We offer comprehensive project support – from consultation, design and manufacture to installation, logistics and recycling, taking the strain out of vehicle enhancements.
