Safe, streamlined and stylish roof racks from KRS

The advanced KRS Roof Rack system, now available exclusively in the UK from Bott Limited, offers enhanced load carrying performance, security and safety on a wide range of commercial vehicles.

The gutter mount’s patented rack restraint system (RRS) promotes safety by distributing the load evenly on vehicles with gutters and preventing sudden forward movements in the event of an accident. The unique streamlined profile of the components reduces drag to minimise fuel costs and ensures that wind noise is the lowest of any roof rack currently on the market.

The new equipment will initially be available for the Vauxhall Vivaro and Vauxhall Combo with versions for vehicles from other manufacturers to be introduced later. The first customer in the UK is BT Open Reach which has specified the KRS Roof Rack system on its fleet of Vauxhall Vivaro vans prepared and converted by Bott at its facility in Ashby de la Zouch.

The KRS Roof Rack is an award winning system manufactured in Australia by The Kinetics Group that can be fitted to vehicles with or without rain gutters. Its precision moulded rubber boots on the gutter mount leg ensure the ultimate protection for the vehicle. A dual clamping process distributes the load over twice the area of most conventional moulded racks to minimise the stress on a vehicle’s roof structure. The system can also be supplied with a permanent track mount that allows the bars to be moved to new positions very easily to support loads of different lengths.

The gutter mount roof rack incorporates the unique patented RRS safety system originally developed to meet the stringent requirements of the Australian Telstra 20G impact test. Stainless steel friction barbs concealed in the rubber boots grip firmly onto the roof in the event of sudden forward motion of the rack caused by a severe frontal impact. This enhances safety by minimising movement of the rack and load while reducing structural damage to the roof area.

The streamlined, low profile section of the components enhances the overall appearance of the vehicle and reduces drag to minimise fuel costs. The design also ensures that the KRS system has the lowest wind noise of any roof rack on the market today. The unique adjustable base plate allows the gutterless rack leg to be positioned in the ideal angle on any commercial vehicle to maintain aerodynamic efficiency.

The KRS Roof Rack is designed to be used with additional load carrying equipment. The KRS Ladder Rack system is lightweight yet extremely strong with specially mounted low friction skid blocks and rail extrusions to make it easy to load and unload of ladders. Components are fully anodised for added protection against corrosion.

The KRS Bazooka Tube is designed to carry lengthy items such as PVC conduit safely and securely. Its end cap has a simple twist lock action which secures the load and is easy to operate.
