bott workshop equipment helps KTM tackle motocross championships

One of the UK’s leading motocross teams has joined forces with workshop and in-vehicle equipment supplier, bott, for the 2008 race season.

Team KTM UK will use bott products to prepare its 450cc and 250cc SX-F bikes at its workshops in Holland and onboard the KTM race truck.

KTM’s UK team recently scooped a double win in the MX2 class in the British Motocross Championships in Kent, and is well placed for the rest of the series. bott’s support will also assist KTM, Europe’s second largest motorbike manufacturer,  in its bid for the 2008 World Motocross Championship.

Iain Paterson, bott’s Marketing Manager, said: “Easy access to tools and parts can mean the difference between first and last place for race teams. That’s why we’ve been pleased to work with KTM UK to ensure their mobile and static workshops have the best working environment. It means their engineers can give their best, and in turn the bikes can perform at their best.”

The agreement with KTM follows a long association with the automotive and motorsport industries for bott.

bott is providing workshop equipment manufactured at its Bude factory to Team KTM UK’s main workshop in Eindhoven, Holland.

The products include:  workbenches, cabinets and service cases, supplied in the KTM corporate colours.

As well as re-fitting the workshop on board the KTM race truck, bott’s in-vehicle signs and graphics division in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire produced and applied new decals to the truck, giving it a distinctive new look.

Roger Magee, Team KTM UK’s owner and manager said: “Motocross is one of the most demanding motorsports, so we need to be able to service and repair our bikes rapidly. Having the right workshop equipment is crucial in getting the bikes race-ready, and keeping their performance up during each round of the championships. We are delighted to team up with bott for the 2008 season.”

This year’s British Motocross Championships includes eight rounds in which KTM’s three riders will be competing.

The team is also taking part in the World Championships, a gruelling 15 race series around the globe.

One of the biggest dates in the sport’s calendar this year in the UK will be the Red Bull Moto Cross of Nations finale at Donington Park this September.

Iain Paterson continued: “Our product range is renowned for coping with the most demanding of workshops, and its use in the race environment proves that. We also offer a complete project management and planning service for installations where solutions can be tailored to meet our clients’ exact requirements.”

As well as supplying off-the-shelf and bespoke equipment to the automotive sector, bott has also provided equipment for industries as diverse as museums, aerospace, schools, publishers, maintenance and laboratories.
