Bott Limited recently supplied a Cubio heavy duty mobile maintenance trolley to De Monfort University’s Formula Student team, to support them in their entry for the 2014 competition.
Formula Student (FS) is Europe's most established educational motorsport competition, run by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. Backed by industry and high profile engineers such as Patron Ross Brawn OBE, the competition aims to inspire and develop enterprising and innovative young engineers. Universities from across the globe are challenged to design and build a single-seat racing car in order to compete in static and dynamic events, which demonstrate their understanding and test the performance of the vehicle.
The competition requires students to deliver both the technical and business aspects of the project in competition with other universities from around the globe. This real world experience enables students to combine their academic learning and creativity, honing the skills required to deliver successful engineering project.
Torrin D. Fairholme, Technical Director of the team said; "De Montfort University entered the IMechE's Formula Student competition for the first time in 2013.
One of the lessons we quickly learnt from our debut year was the need for a top quality, heavy duty mobile cabinet. We contacted Bott for advice and they recommended their Bott Cubio maintenance trolley which fitted our needs perfectly. It's 50/50 split drawers and cupboard combined with and high capacity pop up tool panel at the rear gave us exactly what we needed in a clean and professional unit.”
Bott wish the De Monfort University Formula Student team every success in the 2014. View their progress on their Facebook page DMU Racing.
