bott to improve safety and comfort in new vauxhall van fleet
The contract includes a number of improvements to driver safety and comfort, alongside work to protect parcels and improve the speed and efficiency of deliveries. bott is carrying out the work at the company’s new facility at Bude in Cornwall, Cumbernauld in Scotland and at the company’s in-vehicle headquarters in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire. The contract covers Home Delivery Network Limited (HDNL)’s fleet of Vauxhall Movano 2.5 CDTi panel vans which are being deployed in the company’s 58 depots nationwide. | |
The enhancements being carried out include the removal of some passenger seats, full floor and wall lining using a combination of 12mm non-slip surfaced ply and weight-saving polypropylene and the installation of cargo tracks to allow items to be secured. The drivers’ and rear doors are being fitted with straps to prevent damage through over-opening, while electrical work includes a 12v light in the rear and reversing sensors. bott is also fitting vehicle decals and in-vehicle signage in line with Home Delivery Network Limited’s requirements. As well as its in-vehicle work, bott is also renowned across Europe for its range of durable storage equipment including shelving, racking, cupboards, drawer units and workbenches. bott's South West Production Resources Manager, Simon Willshire commented: “Now, with centres in the South West, the Midlands and Scotland we’re better equipped than ever to deliver large, nationwide enhancement projects like this. The company recently expanded its facilities with a 260 square metre fitting centre at Bude in North Cornwall, adjacent to the factory which makes much of the in-vehicle equipment for the company’s bases at Ashby and Cumbernauld. The new centre accommodates up to seven 3.5 tonne vehicles simultaneously, with secure parking for fleets of up to 120 vehicles.
