bott chosen by leading automotive design company

Led by Chief Executive and Technical Director, Gordon Murray, who in his 40 years in the automotive industry has been responsible for Brabham and  McLaren racing cars as well as the iconic McLaren F1 road car, the new company will provide innovative design solutions for the cars of the future.

The company is already working on a lightweight, environmentally friendly and economical car, T25.  Code named T25 because it is the twenty fifth car that Gordon has designed. it is aimed at first-time buyers, city dwellers, commuters, hire car fleets and second-car buyers. He aims to create a car as cool as the original Mini, Fiat Cinquecento and Smart FourTwo, undercutting its opposition in price and running costs, yet being as safe to drive as a conventional small hatchback.

The T25 will make its fuel savings not through a hybrid or electric powertrain, but by its very low weight - around 400kg less than similarly sized conventional vehicles. It will be made from high-tech materials, and Murray promises 'innovative architecture and packaging which will facilitate low-cost manufacturing and drastically reduce running costs'
The workshop equipment installed by bott, will be used to store the essential tools used in the production of a prototype car, as well as providing a clean and ergonomic workplace. Gordon Murray said “I have assembled a team of the most highly qualified and experienced people in the automotive design industry. Engineers of this calibre demand and deserve the very best, so bott was the obvious choice for us”.

The first prototype T25 cars will be running within two years and the design will be sold or licensed to a major manufacturer to be built in large volumes.

Next year Murray will start work on his second project – yet to be announced.
